Informal event aims to help local creatives connect

The Opportunity Goole team, funded by Goole Town Deal, is hosting a Creative Exchange to give local creatives a chance to inspire, and connect and collaborate with, one another.

The FREE event will take place at Junction Goole on Saturday 21 February, from 10am to 1pm. Anyone who considers themselves a creative is welcome to attend, from artists and musicians to crafters and designers.

It will provide an opportunity for people to connect and share their experiences through a series of guided small table discussions, and hear from local filmmaker Katie Harriman of Fly Girl Films and the Riot Girl Collective. Attendees will be able to pick up practical tips in an Intro to Marketing Mini Masterclass, delivered by members of Invest East Yorkshire’s Business Support team, who will be on hand afterwards for attendees to chat to. There will also be plenty of time to find out more about the support on offer locally, from learning and careers opportunities to business advice.

Sarah Bonnett, a Personal Advisor in the Opportunity Goole team, explained: “The event will be relaxed, inclusive and accessible to everyone, regardless of whether you’re a hobbyist or a creative business owner. The small table conversations will be relaxed and guided by prompts, giving people a chance to share their experiences and ideas about what they’d like to see in Goole as a creative community. The format has been planned in a way that allows for and encourages supported connections.”
